Overview
Portfolio Snapshot ("the App") is developed by Tom Stevenson. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.
Data Collection
Portfolio Snapshot is designed to respect your privacy:
- No Account Required: The App does not require you to create an account or sign in.
- Local Storage Only: All portfolio data (stock symbols, quantities, purchase prices, and dates) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
- No Analytics: We do not use analytics or tracking services.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party service:
- Twelve Data API: When you refresh stock prices, the App sends stock symbols to Twelve Data's servers to retrieve current market prices. Only stock ticker symbols are transmitted—no personal information is shared. Please review Twelve Data's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.
Data You Enter
The portfolio information you enter into the App:
- Stock symbols (e.g., AAPL, GOOGL)
- Quantities of shares
- Purchase prices
- Purchase dates (optional)
This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. We have no access to your portfolio data.
Data Security
Your portfolio data is protected by:
- iOS device security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
- iOS app sandboxing (other apps cannot access your data)
- Local-only storage (data never leaves your device except for price refresh requests)
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by:
- Deleting individual holdings within the App
- Deleting the App from your device (this removes all App data)
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
